FAQ

Q: Can we make payments for our collection?

You can! When we sit down to discuss your collection, we will break down every detail to ensure that we are covering all of our bases for your special day. At this time, if you are looking for payment options we will discuss them here and create a payment plan that works best for you.

Wedding Collections: There will be a 30% retainer for all wedding collections that is due at the time of finalized booking. The remainder of your investment will be due one month prior to the scheduled wedding date.

Retainers are non-refundable as this is a placeholder for your specific wedding date, and my work begins from the moment that we first connect.

Q: Do you offer any discounts?

Although we all love a good discount, I do not offer discounted services at this time. Each collection receives the same amount of love, energy, time, and equipment to capture each story and giving less is not what I'm here for.

Q: Can I see a full wedding day gallery?

Of course you may! We understand all photographers post their best shots from each wedding on their websites so it’s hard to determine how well he or she will perform on the wedding day. That is why I encourage all of my potential clients to view full events from all photographers they meet with to see how well the photographer performs throughout the day. Please let me know if you would like the link!

Q: How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding day photos?

Details: Advice – Having at least 30 minutes for details ensures that I have plenty of time to get that perfect photo of the dress, rings, shoes, bouquets, and the other details of the day.

Getting Ready: Advice – Having an hour of preparation is ideal for my style. Keep in mind that these are some of the most emotional and fun times of the day, so you don’t want to cut it short.

Individual Portraits: Advice – Right after prep is the best time for individual portraits of the bride and groom (separately) with a total of 30 minutes.

First Look & Couple Session: Advice – The first look should be around 45-60 minutes. During this time, the bride and groom enjoy seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day. While the actual first look might only be 5-10 minutes, the rest of the time is spent on a few basic portraits of the bride and groom.

Wedding Party Photos: Advice – Should be around 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, I get a variety of shots in a variety of poses. I know how much your wedding party means to you, so we are sure to get pictures with you and each one of your bridesmaids or groomsmen individually.

Immediate Family: Advice – Should take another 45 minutes. It’s important to have additional images with your parents, grandparents, and siblings beyond the basic formal. Plan on 3 minutes per group on average.

Ceremony Details and Venue: Advice – Please allow 30 minutes for me to take pictures of the ceremony site, completely set up.

Formals (extended family, immediate family, and friends): Advice – Should take around 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of your family and the number of guests. Keep an organized list to stay on track!

Couple Session: Should be around 1 hour and should take place ideally 30 to 45 minutes before sunset. The is the best time in terms of lighting.

Reception: Please allow 15 minutes for pictures of the reception room, completely set up with no guests or vendors in the area.

During the reception, plan on sneaking out for a couple of night shots!

Q: Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I will travel without any additional travel fees up to 25 miles one way from central Columbus, Ohio. Any venue further than 25 miles, will potentially incur a travel fee for hotel accommodations and mileage at the Federal Standard Mileage Rates which can be found here [https://www.irs.gov/tax-professionals/standard-mileage-rates].

Travel expenses are depending on your location and amount of hours, let's chat about the options!

Q: What rights do I have to the digital photos?

You have the right to print and post images whenever you want. However, you may not alter, edit, or sell your images for profit without the written consent of Katrina Slee Photography.

Q: What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?

I understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding. I'll never pack up before the contracted time, and moreover, I'm not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up. Instead, I will ask you at the end of your contracted time whether or not you would like to extend. If you would like me to stay, I will charge the rates specified in your contract rounded to the closest 30-minute increment.
